Electric pressure cooker buying Guide

Basic components of electric pressure cooker:

1. Housing

The outer pot of the electric pressure cooker is known as housing. It includes the digital display, the preset buttons, and temperature controls. It has all the electrical sockets which are required to run the electric pressure cooker.

The cooking pot is placed inside the housing with some water. Food ingredients will not be placed directly inside the housing. Housing is not washed by water instead a cloth will be used to wipe as it has all the electrical components.

2. Cooking Pot

A cooking pot is a container in which food ingredients will be kept and placed inside the housing. After food is prepared cooking pot can be taken out from the cooker.

It can be easily washed by water. They are made of different materials such as stainless steel or ceramic coating. These pots are usually non-stick pot with Teflon coating.

3. Cooker Lid

The lid is placed on top of the housing the closes it for cooking. It contains a pressure release switch and there is a floating valve. There is a silicone gasket at the inner side of the lid. While cooking pressure is released using the pressure release switch and floating valve.

7. Anti-block Shield

On the pressure release switch, there is an anti-block shield. It will not allow the foams and food to enter inside the pressure release switch. This anti-block shield can be removed whenever required.
